I Just bought a new savage last saturday, and I've already put 600 miles on it. I decided I'd do the first service myself, because it costs $98 and the shop[ is booked until the end of the month. The only thing i don't know how to do is check the valve clearance. Can anyone tell me how? Also, I bought castrol syntec 10-w40 full synthetic motor oil, this stuff was $4.50 a qt, has anyone used this oil?
